There are only two illustrations in the whole book; one showing the top of a chain, and another showing how to increase/decrease. Without using other resources it would be near impossible for a beginner to understand the descriptions given. Please consider carefully before purchasing. I had chose it because of the good reviews and the price. In reality there are lots of other books out there much better than this that will show you step by step how to crochet.
